Richard Overton was born in the States in the almost mid-fifties on 10th August. Nancy and Hall Overton were his parents. His mother Nancy had a career singing and his father Hall taught and arranged music.
Better known as Rick, he himself is both an actor and a comedian, as well as a screenplay writer. Though he was born in Queens, New York, he spent his childhood in a part of New Jersey called Englewood. There, he went to Dwight Morrow High School.
In the early eighties, Rick landed roles in the comedies 'Young Doctors In Love' and 'Airplane II: The Sequel'. The first was the product of director Garry Marshall, while Ken Finkleman was responsible for writing and directing the second movie. As the name suggests, it was a sequel to the movie 'Airplane!', which had been released at the beginning of the decade.
He was seen in many television programs and films in the eighties. Some of his roles included a part in 1984's 'Beverly Hills Cop'; 'Odd Jobs' of 1986, as well as 'Modern Girls' from the same year; 1987's 'Million Dollar Mystery'; and 1989's 'Blind Fury'. In total, he featured in 7 TV shows and 13 different films during that decade. He was even the writer of an episode of TV show 'The New Adventures of Beans Baxter' in the late eighties.
In the early nineties, Rick was given a part in a TV series called 'The Edge'. However, the show was ended the following year. Also in that year, he appeared in two episodes of the 'Seinfeld' comedy series, and received a role in the movie 'Mrs. Doubtfire', featuring Robin Williams.
