The Books With Female Protagonists

By Geneva Anthony

Different people have different opinions regarding the books with female protagonists. However, as long as a character is fully developed and has realistic flaws, it does not matter the gender in which the character is. In most cases, women characters are usually portrayed as invincible hence giving them unrelatable reputation.

It is exciting to read a book containing a strong woman character. The book market is filled with novels of the male heroes making it even more interesting to find and read one that has a heroine possessing her strengths & flaws. Women characters are relegated to love roles and also sidekicks since the publishers themselves view them as being just that.

Most books that fill up the mental bookshelves of most individuals are those that are written by male authors containing male characters inside them. Most male readers do not read novels that are written by the few women in the field of writing. Despite this factor, such novels are also interesting to read.

When it comes to a book about a female protagonist, different views are raised. However, the truth of the matter is, not everyone really knows who a strong woman is. Many people see this person as one who is able to venture without fear. This definition is never correct. A strong woman is that who is morally upright and whom everyone would love to associate.

People in most cases read about those characters they can easily relate to especially when they are reading for enjoyment reasons. Young readers will prefer reading about young characters. On the other hand, a women reader will prefer reading about women characters.

It is not best to conclude that books with female protagonists cannot be interesting. Every person has a preference for his kind of character. While some may prefer the woman character, others will hold that the male character is the best.
